ORIGIN AND PRODUCTION

Water soluble Citrus Extracts, also known as water soluble Citrus flavonoids contain a high percentage of neohesperidin, naringin, hesperidin and isonaringin - normally between 45 - 50% of total citro-flavonoids by hplc - and can be obtained as extracts by a natural process from from citrus fruit. They are completely natural, without any additive or chemical step involved in their production. They have most important physiological properties and lately it was discovered that they also have a function as antioxidants.

Depending on the citrus source, different extraction processes for each product is necessary. The products run through a series of natural extraction processes to concentrate the Citrus Bioflavonoid content of the products and to decrease useless and undesired materials. After a slow drying process at low temperatures, products are converted into a fine powder.

Much care is taken that during the concentration and centrifugation processes no heat is used, in order to garanty a good quality of the product without any possible damage. On the other hand, to garantee a full 100% extract as a rule, no additives, preservatives or artificial mould inhibitors are added. The positive effect of flavonoids on bleeding and capillar fragility is know since 1938 by the Nobel Price winner of Vitamin C, Prof. Dr. Scent Gyorgyi, who was the first that gave the name of Vitamin P to the citrus bioflavonoids. Flavonoids reduced the capillar fragility, decrease venous capacitance, distensibility and venous emptying time. Other activities of bioflavonoids are interference with edema mechanisms and hyperpermeability induced by drugs.
